Santa Cruz es uno de mis sitios favoritos. Está a unas dos horitas de San Francisco y es una ciudad totalmente volcada en el surf. Digamos que es la capital del surf del norte de Cal. Una ciudad muy tranquila, con muchos surferos de los 80 y bastantes hippies!
Si vas por la calle principal, a parte de inmensas tiendas de surf, te encuentras especímenes de todo tipo, tocando la guitarra, pidiendo pasta….y si vas por el digamos Paseo Marítimo te encuentras un parque de atracciones, con su mini montaña rusa y todo…
Sobretodo durante el invierno, es uno de los mejores sitios para surfear de California y de todo USA. El clima es un poco frio y el agua está congelada. Tiene muchos diferentes spots pero el mas conocido es Steamer Lane, al que dedicaré una sola entrada.

Santa Cruz is one my favourite places. Its 2 hours driving from San Francisco and its a city passionate with surfing. Lets say is the surfing capital of the Nor Cal. A really calm city, it has a lot of 80´s surfers and bunch of hippies!
If you walk around the main street you can find huge surf shops and crazy people doing crazy shit, playing guitar, singing, asking for cash….and if you go around the Boardwalk , youll see an amusement park, with the famous roller coaster.
Especially during winter, it is one of the best places to surf in Cal and in the US. The weather is kinda cold and the water is freazing. It has a lot of different spots but the most famous one is The Steamer Lane, that I will write one post only for it.
